Hello everyone what can you say about a genre that help bring anime to the US? Most of us grew up with "Sailor Moon," yet that was it. When I grew up that was it for the magical girl genre in the US. Years later came out "Monica Magica," sorry I don't know the whole thing and this anime changed the magical girl genre, by being a darker series. I will check that out later but right now we are checking out a similar anime called "Magical Girl Raising Project." The anime starts off like any typical magical girl anime, girl gets magical powers and tries to save everyone. Then you discover more about your magic and the world it comes from. Well it's quite different. You are chosen to be a magical girl from an online game and then told to eliminate other magical girls if you want to stay a magical girl. The only way to stop being a magical girl is to die and how many would easily take that option. Sadly I did find myself cheering for certain characters only because a few were bad eggs and had to go. Their is a lot of heart breaking sense throughout the anime so be prepared if you try to watch it all at once. Check it out on Funimation and Crunchyroll anytime. See you all on the next post.
